2017 is a year the New Day Campaign explores matters related to addiction in a variety of ways, including this three-part series featuring speakers on the myths, problems, and solutions related to alcohol addiction, all in the context of the New Day Campaign vibe of art, performance, personal sharing, and community conversation.
The series is presented in collaboration with The Mental Health Student Group (MHSG) and the Forum on Alcohol Research and Advocacy (FARA). MHSG is a student-run group that aims to support students, raise awareness about mental health topics, engage in service activities, and provide regular mindfulness and wellbeing events. It is organized by students in the Mental Health department within the Bloomberg School of Public Health. FARA is a student-run group exploring alcohol use as a public health issue and the influential factors associated with alcohol use, including marketing, epidemiology, and issues with the industry.
2017 Speaker Series: Alcohol Addiction Today is made possible by a grant from the Peter G. Dodge Foundation. The series takes place at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, 615 N. Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21205. All events are free and open to the public.
